HAWK CREEK COUNTRY CLUB
MEN'S LEAGUE RULES

1. Matches will always be played against your opponent – same tee time, same night.

· Each team is responsible for setting up and agreeing on a tee time with their opponent, so all four players on both teams are aware of the tee time. League phone numbers are posted at the clubhouse and on the Hawk Creek Country Club web site (www.hawkcreekcc.com)

· If one player from a team is unable to attend, it is that player’s responsibility to find a substitute, and to inform the opposing team of the substitute.

· If neither team can find an acceptable tee time on Monday or Tuesday night, they have until the following Monday night to make up their match so long as both teams agree to the new tee time.

o If one team is available on Monday or Tuesday night, but the other team cannot find subs and is not available within the week; if both teams cannot agree to a new tee time, the burden of forfeit* is carried by the team that was unavailable on Monday or Tuesday night.

· If all four players are not present at the match’s tee time, the match will be moved down to the next available tee time, so as not to slow down the other matches that are present for their tee times.

o If a player knows he is going to be late, he must call ahead to the clubhouse to see if the following match can be moved up and/or tee times can be switched. The clubhouse and other league members will be as flexible as possible in moving tee times to accommodate special circumstances, but the burden is on the player to arrive at his set tee time.

o If a player arrives late and does not call the clubhouse, the match will be moved down to the next available tee time, whenever that is.

(i.e. if your tee time is 5:30 and you don’t show up until 5:35 without calling the clubhouse to see if your tee time can be switched, you may not get a chance to play until 6:30 – or later – if tee times are all booked. Please respect other players and be on time!)

2. League and handicap fees must be paid before league play starts. Your team will not be eligible to win weekly prize money until your fees are paid. Severe delinquency will result in removal from the league!

3. Matches will be played according to SUMMER RULES. If a player has a question, it should be discussed and resolved among the four players in the group. If a player has a question about summer rules that cannot be decided by the group, he can call the clubhouse for guidance.

4. No gimmes (all putts will be putted out). No mulligans. No “fluffing” the ball before shots. Repair all divots and ballmarks. Do not pull the ball out of the cup with a putter – that disrupts the plastic ring inside the cups. Please show respect to the golf course and those playing with and around you by taking care of the course.

5. Scoring consists of 30 points per match. Each two person team is ranked based on handicap, with a “1” golfer and a “2” golfer. The “1” golfer from the first team plays against the “1” golfer from the second team; likewise, the “2” golfer from the first team plays against the “2” golfer from the second team in stroke play with handicaps included. One point is awarded to the golfer with the low score for each hole, and one point is awarded to the team with the low combined score for each hole, for a total of 3 points per hole. One point is also awarded to the golfer with the lowest total score for 9 holes, and one point is awarded for the team with the lowest total combined score for 9 holes, for a total of 3 points per 9 holes.

· If a team is unable to play their match within the allotted time frame, they carry the burden of a forfeit. The winning team receives 20 points, the forfeiting team receives 10 points.

6. In the case of bad weather, both teams should agree on a contingency plan prior to starting the match.

(i.e. if less than 5 holes are completed, both teams agree to restart from hole #1; if more than 5 holes are completed, both teams agree to restart at the last completed hole; etc.)

7. League payouts will be based on the number of teams in the league, and therefore, the number of weeks in the season. Prize money will be awarded each week and at the conclusion of the season.

8. The clubhouse reserves the right to amend these rules – or add rules to address specific situations that arise during the season – at any time. Questions can be brought to a HCCC Board Member.
