Because
the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, this hole
should be played down the middle. Hole #1 provides a long, distinct,
and very inviting fairway. A strong drive from the teebox will put you
between a cluster of trees on both sides of the fairway, and within
striking distance of the green.
Railroad
tracks provide an Out-of-Bounds (OB) border just beyond the rough on
the right side, while the Driving Range creates OB on the left. A small
creek runs across the rough immediately before the fairway begins, while
two long sand bunkers protect both sides of the green.
The perfect way to start
your round, Hole #1 is a great birdie opportunity. In fact, in most
scrambles, this can be a chance for an eagle! Hit it long and hit it
straight, and you'll be on your way to a great round.
